Photos of Vienna
We arrived in beautiful Vienna Thursday afternoon. What an amazing city to tour. We visited the Imperial Apartments and another St. Stephen's cathedral, which to me was far more beautiful than the one in Budapest. Friday we traveled by bus to Bratislava, Slovakia, to tour IAC, an automobile components manufacturer (they make interior and exterior parts primarily for Porsche and VW). Our hosts were very hospitable and gave us a grand tour of their facilities (amazing operation - extremely efficient). We toured the city briefly and stopped for lunch. This is definitely a place I'd like to spend more time in. Saturday was our free day. A few of us attended a concert, and this was the highlight of the trip thus far. The energy and passion of the orchestra, pianist, and conductor was without comparison. Listening on the radio or watching on TV is not as great as being there in person, and there were literally moments when I forgot to breathe it was so intense. I left there feeling renewed and wowed with excitement. This was Vienna and music - is there a more awesome experience to be had? We leave today (Sunday) for Salzburg. Chris has been singing The Sound of Music for days now, so he's thrilled. Maria, move over! Check back later for pics of Bratislava and Vienna. Oh, and I have to mention the food. From beer garden to beer garden, the food and drink is phenomenal, yet again. We are all trying new dishes - some we like, some we want to forget. And for some, there was some late night dancing to German music, which was quite a sight. The Execs are holding their own against the Fulltimers. We're not old - just more seasoned.
